What
is Body Sugaring?
|
Based on a technique
developed by the ancient Egyptians, Body Sugaring is a gentle
and effective form of hair removal, using a natural ingredient
- sugar. Body Sugaring paste is easy to use, gentle on your skin,
100% environmentally - friendly with no animal testing, and if
accidentally swallowed, delicious.
Body Sugaring was brought into the 20th century
by Alexandria Sugaring as a salon program. Trained technicians
apply the paste with a massaging motion, removing both the hair
and the paste.
|
|
How
does it work?
|
Alexandria Body Sugaring Paste is gently warmed,
and is thinly spread in the same direction of the hair growth.
The Alexandria reusable cotton strips are pressed firmly on
top of the paste, and then are quickly pulled back in the opposite
direction. This process removes both the hair and the root.
With no trace of stubble, your skin is left silky smooth. Long
term, this process weakens the root, and promotes softer, finer
regrowth with repeated use.
|
|
How
long between treatments?
|
There are approximately four to six weeks between
treatments because the hair is removed at the root. And since
regrowth is finer, prolonged use means you'll have less hair
to remove.
|
|
Where
can it be used?
|
Practically anywhere. Women can use Alexandria
Body Sugaring Paste on the eyebrows, upper lip, underarms, legs,
arms, stomach, and bikini line. Men can sugar anywhere except
on the beard, since beards are a network root system.
|
|
What's
in it?
|
Alexandria Sugaring Paste's ingredients include
sugar, water, citric acid and gum arabic. Not only are these
ingredients completely natural, but each is good for the skin.
- Sugar - has proven healing qualities.
And bacteria cannot grow in large amounts of it.
- Citric acid - is a mild astringent
used to tighten and firm the skin; when the skin is firm the
hair is removed more easily and gently.
- Gum arabic - used to provide the necessary
consistency. Using gum arabic instead of wax significantly
reduces pain. Unlike wax, gum arabic does not stick to the
skin or harden, which removes a layer of skin.
